Sara Shaw - Soprano

Biography

Sara is an experienced and versatile singer who, without exception, has captivated audiences wherever she has performed.

Having studied from an early age, she went on to gain a performance diploma at Trinity College of Music, and since then, as well as her opera credits, has given many recitals and concerts.

She has sung at most of the major London concert venues, and with companies such as English National Opera, English Touring Opera, and for many seasons with Suffolk Opera. In addition she has taken lead roles with other companies throughout the Southeast and East Anglia, as well as performing at outdoor festivals such as the 'Last Night of the Proms' at Kentwell Hall.

Stage performances have been varied and range from Opera to pantomime.
Operatic roles, include; - Semele title role, Fiordiligi (Cose Fan Tutte), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Mimi (La Boheme), Micaela (Carmen) and also the title role of the same opera, Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Anna (The Merry Widow), Euridice (Orpheus in the the Underworld), Antonia (The Tales of Hoffman).

Other roles have included many of the Savoy heroines, as well as musical leads. Concert work has also consisted of the operatic and lighter repertoire.

Oratorio works performed include:- Verdi - Requiem; Rossini - Petite Missa Solonelle; Mozart - Requiem; Handel - Messiah; Bach - St Mathew Passion; Faure - Requiem; Haydn - Creation and Carl Orff - Carmina Burana.
